I finally finished the painting of the Mehrten Ranch House; it's a comission piece, and I think they will like it. They've waited a while for it, but not as long as Bob has waited for his painting of Pepper! (For those who don't know Pepper, he's our canine son!) At least I have the sketch of it on the canvas, and it's going to be started this week. It has Pepper when he was a puppy, along with his big brother, Buddy, who was a fabulous dog who isn't with us any more.
WELCOME TO MY ART WORLD!
Welcome to my Art World! This is where it's all about me! Seriously, this will be a journal of my life in my art world. I'll post my works in progress, talk about my feelings, share my plans, dreams, and goals. Facebook is OK, but here, it's more personal. I hope you enjoy it!
I hope you'll feel free to comment - I encourage you to do so.

I had a fabulous time at the American Visions Gallery last Saturday; the Michael Goddard show was really fun. He has alot of personality, and obviously has fun with his art.
I'll be doing the sketch of the purple shoe, along with Chrissy's Caterpiller this afternoon and evening. It sure has been good to be able to get around and stand up to paint again! My foot is healing nicely.

I re-worked SSSultry a little - forgot something! I'll be going to see the show for Michael Goddard at the American Visions Gallery here in Folsom today. I'm really looking forward to it! His work is completely different from mine, very unique, bright, neon-like, very cool.
I'm excited about starting new paintings - Can hardly wait!
Chrissy's Caterpiller is for Christmas, as well as Bob's painting of Pepper and Buddy by the pool, but I'll still be continueing on with the "Going for The Look" series, phase I, which is, of course, the shoes. I haven't decided what Phase II will be yet, but probably the hats. Then, of course there will be Phase III.

Well, I did work on the Portrait of My Red Boots once more, and it has a couple of small differences, but haven't gotten a photo of it that I'm happy with, so I'll just say that last photo is pretty close. I did, however, finish SSSultry today, and although the photo isn't very good because of the light reflections, you can see the painting fairly well. When I take it in to have the prints made, I will be able to get a much better image!
Next Shoe in the series will be called "Regal".
Along with that, I'll be working on the Mehrten Ranch painting, which is almost finished, Pepper and Buddy for Bob, and Chrissy's Caterpiller. Those will be fun!

I think I finished the Portrait of My Red Boots today, although sometimes I find something that needs to be tweaked after a couple of days. There will probably be some small changes before I have the final photos. It's done for today, though.
I'm hoping to also work on the Mehrten Ranch House painting this afternoon. I am really having fun today! With my foot healing so well, it's getting easier to spend time at my easels.

I'm just getting ready to sit and put my foot up and knit for a little while. Then I will paint, and finally finish the Portrait of My Red Boots! I'll let you know how it goes! In the meantime, I'll upload the first two in the shoe series for you. ttyl.
The blue one is called "High Class".

I'm blogging! How cool is that? I haven't been painting much in the last couple of weeks, as I had foot surgery, but I will talk about how things have been anyway. The last painting I finished was "Jeremey's Mailbox" which I did to enter in a show. It wasn't accepted, but I like it anyway, and will be doing a small series of mailboxes after I finish the shoe series.
I'm working on the Mehrten Ranch House painting, SSSultry (the third in the shoe series), and Portrait of my Red Boots. I'll post those photos later, next time I get around to getting current photos of them. I plan to paint this afternoon, probably on the red boots painting, as it's probably the closest to being finished.
It will probably take me a little time to figure out this blogging thing, so bear with me!
